Governance

Sustainable management with responsibility for the environment, social issues and corporate governance.

As a responsible company, we have committed ourselves to clear obligations and requirements in terms of sustainability, the ESG principles (environmental, social and governance).

For us, this means not only pursuing economic goals, but also assuming ecological and social responsibility and ensuring transparent, ethical corporate governance.

ESG principles & materiality

Our materiality analysis

We have carried out a comprehensive materiality analysis and identified the issues that are most important to our stakeholders and the long-term success of the company. It helps us to set clear priorities and develop measures that reduce our environmental footprint and strengthen our social values.

In order to implement our sustainability strategy consistently and measurably, we are guided by the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS). The 12 ESRS are divided into 4 groups: General Standards, Environmental Standards, Social Standards and Governance Standards. With its materiality analysis, the LÄPPLE Group has defined the sustainability aspects that are important for the Group.

Climate change, in particular climate protection & energy use
Circular economy: in particular resource inflows & outflows & waste
Own workforce: in particular working conditions, equal treatment, equal opportunities & data protection
Working conditions in the value chain, in particular appropriate remuneration & health and safety
Consumers / end users: in particular their personal safety
Corporate policy: in particular corporate culture & management of relationships with suppliers

Environmental

Climate change

We want to help counteract climate change. Our ESR standards focus in particular on climate protection and energy. We therefore focus on measures to reduce CO₂e emissions and invest in energy-efficient technologies to continuously improve our environmental footprint. Our aim is to continuously optimize energy consumption in production and administration - through the use of resource-saving processes, intelligent energy management systems and sustainable production processes. We are constantly examining opportunities to switch to green energy sources, e.g. photovoltaic systems.

Sustainable use of resources

In addition to climate protection, the sustainable use of resources plays a key role in our environmental management. In all production steps, we ensure that materials are used as efficiently as possible and that resource-saving alternatives are used. In doing so, we pursue the goal of specifically optimizing the flow of resources within our value chain and increasingly integrating sustainable raw materials into our processes.

Promoting the circular economy is a key component of our sustainability strategy. Our recycling strategies actively contribute to the conservation of natural resources and the reduction of resources used.

Circular economy

We also work continuously to minimize our environmental footprint along the entire supply chain. This includes sustainable logistics concepts to reduce transportation routes and emissions, as well as close partnerships with suppliers who meet our high environmental standards.

With our commitment to climate protection, energy efficiency and the circular economy, the LÄPPLE Group makes an active contribution to environmental protection and ensures that sustainable management remains an integral part of our corporate strategy.

Social

Working conditions

Social responsibility is also a central component of our corporate culture. We offer secure jobs with fair working conditions and working hours, appropriate remuneration and comprehensive health and safety protection for our employees. We also attach great importance to equal treatment and equal opportunities through continuous skills development and training, as well as the protection of personal data.

We work to ensure high social standards throughout our value chain - both for our own employees and for our business partners' employees.

We also assume responsibility towards our customers and end consumers. Protecting their health and safety is our top priority.

Education and equal opportunities

The LÄPPLE Group operates its own training company, LÄPPLE Aus- und Weiterbildung, which goes far beyond the traditional training paths. Not only does it provide training for all of the Group's business divisions, thereby securing the next generation of skilled workers, but it also opens its doors to external trainees. In addition, it offers retraining and further training - a range that opens up new perspectives for people and gives them the chance of a new career start and a sustainable future. In this way, we assume social responsibility and actively invest in people's development.

Governance

Responsible corporate policy

A value-oriented corporate culture forms the foundation of our actions. Integrity, transparency and respectful dealings with all stakeholders are not just a matter of course for the LÄPPLE Group, they are part of everyday practice.

We attach particular importance to the responsible management of our business relationships. Our partnerships with suppliers and stakeholders are based on fairness, reliability and shared sustainability goals. We rely on close cooperation with trustworthy partners who, like us, are committed to high environmental, social and governance standards.

Sustainable partnerships

Through transparent supply chains, regular internal and external audits and an active exchange with our suppliers, we ensure that sustainable and ethical principles are adhered to in all areas of the value chain.

In doing so, we go beyond mere compliance with legal requirements and also take into account issues that are particularly relevant to our stakeholders. These include effective compliance management, which ensures compliant behavior throughout the company, as well as a trustworthy whistleblowing system that offers employees and external partners an anonymous and protected opportunity to report irregularities.

Security creates trust

We also attach great importance to topics such as data and information security, risk management and internal control systems - not least because they are key decision-making criteria for banks and financial institutions. Through this targeted governance approach, we create trust among customers, partners, investors and employees and make an active contribution to responsible and future-oriented corporate management.

Sustainability as an opportunity

The implementation of ESG measures opens up a wide range of opportunities for us that go far beyond compliance with legal requirements. Through transparent communication and comprehensive sustainability information, we strengthen our competitiveness in the long term and position ourselves as a reliable partner in an increasingly value-oriented market. By actively meeting the rising expectations of our customers, we create clear advantages over our competitors and secure our market position.

At the same time, targeted sustainability measures enable a more efficient use of resources and help to identify and minimize risks - for example with regard to working conditions in the supply chain - at an early stage. A clearly defined ESG strategy not only strengthens our corporate image, but also makes us particularly attractive to qualified specialists and young talent. It also gives us access to funding programs for sustainable projects and thus supports the economic success and future viability of our company.
