LÄPPLE Aus- und Weiterbildung: Cooperation with Obrigheim secondary school now contractually sealed

Since 2013, LÄPPLE AUSBILDUNGS GmbH has been successfully cooperating with the Obrigheim secondary school – initially on a verbal basis. In 2025, the long-standing cooperation was formalized by an official cooperation agreement. The aim is to introduce students to technical and commercial professions in a practical way and to inspire them to pursue a career at an early stage.

The cooperation between LÄPPLE AUSBILDUNGS GmbH and Obrigheim Secondary School has been in place for over a decade. Based on the consistently positive experiences, the previously verbal agreement was confirmed and further consolidated in 2025 with a written contract.

As part of the cooperation, a versatile program was developed that gives students practical insights into technical professions and industrial manufacturing processes. The focus is not only on career orientation, but also on direct knowledge transfer and experiencing practical applications.

The goals of the cooperation include:

  • Promotion of career guidance in technical and commercial fields
  • Support in career decision-making
  • Increasing interest in industrial-technical and commercial professions
  • Teaching technical basics, especially in the field of metalworking

The collaboration takes place on several levels:

  • Grades 6 and 7:
    Students participate in workshops and internships where they learn manufacturing techniques such as turning, milling, and welding. They are supervised by instructors and trainees from LÄPPLE AUSBILDUNGS GmbH.
  • Project work:
    Over the course of a school year, participants work on practical projects, such as constructing simple models or planning manufacturing processes. They are supported in this by specialists from LÄPPLE.
  • Grades 9 and 10:
    The focus is on job application training and career information. The young people receive support in preparing application documents, practicing job interviews, and preparing for apprenticeships at LÄPPLE.

Conclusion and outlook:
The cooperation with Obrigheim Secondary School is a successful example of how schools and the world of work can be successfully linked. It makes a significant contribution to the orientation and development of young people – both professionally and personally.

The cooperation is to be further expanded in the future. Plans include an expansion of the workshop offerings, additional practical units, and the integration of digital content such as CAD programs. This will give students an even more comprehensive insight into modern manufacturing technologies.

Through school partnerships such as this one – including those with Horneckschule Gundelsheim, Helmbundschule Neuenstadt, Verbundschule Bad Rappenau, and Friedrich-Heuss-Schule Haßmersheim – around 70% of LÄPPLE's young talent becomes aware of the company at an early stage. LÄPPLE AUSBILDUNGS GmbH will continue to pursue this successful path with the Obrigheim secondary school.
